Ed East

Ed boasts a long and successful career as a  musician. Born in Panama City, Panama he weaves his musical roots and his formal training into the fabric of the midwest's evolving, cultural landscape.  A much sought-after percussionist, he's also written music for TV, film, and arrangements for symphony. He has produced and directed many culturally significant groups like: "The Afro-Latin Project", "Orquesta Alto Maiz", and "Mariachi de Colores",  and has recorded and performed extensively here and abroad. He is the recent recipient of yet another Iowa Arts Council Artist Grant.

Nolan Schroeder

Country: USA 

Instrument - Saxophone, flute

Nolan is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, where he received a BA in Jazz Studies.

He  has shared the stage with such notables as Kenny Wheeler, Doug Lawrence, Donny McCaslin, John Clayton, Dick Oatts, Peter Apfelbaum, Ignacio “Nachito” Herrera, The Temptations, Bernadette Peters, The Hit Men, Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack, and internationally renowned Thai saxophonist Koh Mr. Saxman.  Nolan's arrangements and compositions have been featured in several commercially available recordings.

Rayne Vitorino Dias       

Country: Brazil 

Instrument - Piano

Rayne did his undergraduate work at Federal University of Uberlândia (Minas Gerais, Brazil). After graduation he became a teacher at Uberlândia’s Conservatory of Music, and played and recorded with many groups in this, his home town.

Rayne has extensive experience playing Jazz as well as several styles of Brazilian music like Bossa Nova, Samba, Baião and others, In May of 2019 he earned his Masters degree in jazz studies at The University of Iowa. He is now a candidate to the PhD program in Music Education.

Danny Oline

Country: USA 

Instrument - Bass

Danny is a performing bassist and educator based in the Iowa City (Iowa) area who, over the last 14 years has had the opportunity to perform with countless musicians in a plethora of settings, instrumentations, and styles. Through his teaching, he has influenced many middle school and High School bassists .

He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and  can be seen performing with powerhouse bands like "Orquesta Alto Maiz", Jim Dreier's "Ritmocano", and various other small groups in Eastern Iowa.

Maurice Artiaga

Country: Cuba

Instrumen: Percussion 

Maurice was born in Havana, Cuba. He studied at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory in Havana, Cuba. After graduation he began working with the Gran Teatro de La Habana symphony. He was an accompanist for the Alicia Alonzo ballet, and was a performing member of the National Opera Company of Havana.

About four years ago Maurice relocated to Mexico, where he became an instructor for the Esperanza Azteca orchestra in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Home is now Iowa.
